Beginner Hockey 101
Twin Ponds is offering a new program to beginner ice hockey players. This program replaces the Intro to Hockey and the Little Rookies Skills Sessions.
Twin Ponds Beginner Hockey 101 clinic teaches the proper skills needed to play hockey. The program features beginner drills and cross-ice games.
All participants of the Beginner Hockey 101 sessions must be able to perform all skating drills in Basic 1 and Basic 2 of the learn to skate program. All participants must have a signed certificate from a member of our Twin Ponds Professional Figure Skating Team stating that the participant has completed the skating skills required to join this program. If a participant did not complete the required skating lessons at Twin Ponds, they will be required to do a walk on lesson during Twin Pond’s group lessons and have the instructor sign off on their certificate. Players that have completed a puddle league season, do not have to have a signed certificate from the Twin Ponds Professional Figure Skating team.
Please download the brochure for additional information on what will be taught during the sessions.
The 60 minute sessions will be held on Friday evenings from 6:15 – 7:15 pm at East only.
The cost of the 8 week clinic is $90.
Required equipment is: hockey skates, hockey helmet with face mask, hockey gloves and a hockey stick.
This program is ideal for players of all ages but is mostly recommended for players ages 5 to 8. Older and younger children will be accepted with recommendation from the figure skating coaches.
